My studio is torn apart … again. This month I’ve been busy photographing a crazy amount of sketchbook pages and paintings for a new project.
I feel like I’m getting things down to a science when it comes to capturing high quality images of my work and am so happy with how they’ve turned out. I will say that these soft boxes have been a game changer for me. They produce a nice evenly lit photograph with excellent color temperature. I used to shoot my photos near my large studio window—taking advantage of the natural daylight. I would cross my fingers for good weather and wait to take pictures until the time of day when I felt the lighting was the best. Now, when using these soft boxes, I close the windows and turn off any other lights. This means I can take photos at any time that fits into my schedule day or night.
So what I’m up to? I’m excited to let you know that I’ve been working on two new books featuring my artwork!
One book will include pages from my Neocolor sketchbooks from 2023 and the other will contain acrylic paintings and sketchbook pages from 2022-2023.
I get a little disappointed when I purchase an art book online later to find out that all the images inside are small and that the book is mostly dominated by text. Keeping this in mind, I have designed these books to be filled with lots of large images and also details of some images cropped in close so you can get a good look at my marks and brushstrokes. And as for text, I’m only including a short intro about my process at the beginning—the rest if packed with full color images.
I’ll keep you updated as to when both books are available along with a more in-depth peek inside the pages of each book. I’m aiming for early November, just in time for Christmas.
*UPDATE: both books will be available November 15th on my website.
Are you working on any projects that you are excited about?
I can't wait for these books!!! xoxo
